Shen'ao Line was the most beautiful light railway for its picturesque coastline. After the ups and downs of industry, NMMST has given a new mission to the once closed railway. With comfort and convenience, the railway brings tourists to Badouzi to enjoy the nice view and fresh seafood. The once dusty train is now with people and their laughter.
The railway's Shen'ao branch line was completed in 1936, during the Japanese occupation period, to transport mineral ore extracted from Jiufen and Jinguashi. It ran through Bachimen in Keelung, Badouzi, and Shen'ao, terminate at Shuinandong(Liandong). After the end of World War II, it was taken over by the Taiwan Metal Mining Corp. and was later abandoned in 1962 because of financial difficulties.
