The National Museum of Marine Science and Technology (NMMST) is located in the Badouzi area (Keelung city) and situated in a hot tourism zone. In order to support the regional economy, the “Regional Exploration Building” was set up. The major function of the 2nd floor is tourism information. The 3rd floor presents the theme “Ocean tourism & Leisure education”and an introduction of the landscapes, humanities and industries of the area from east to west, from Wanghai Lane to the National Taiwam Ocean University and Hopin Island. The agency functions as an information center and encourages the masses to come into this area and experience marine culture.
To garner the participation and involvement of the populace, visitors can reconstruct or create their own stories using their personal memories. The “Regional Exploration Hall” will hopefully become a center and hot pot of ecological and community tourism.
